HomeMy Public PortalAbout18-9585 Poice & Recreation to Create a Schedule of Vehicle Maintenance Sponsored by: Commissioner Kelley RESOLUTION NO. 18-9585 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ASSESS ALL CITY OF OPA-LOCKA POLICE DEPARTMENT AND PARKS AND RECREATION VEHICLES; CREATE A SCHEDULE OF MAINTENANCE FOR ALL VEHICLES; AND REPORT ALL FINDINGS TO THE CITY COMMISSION NO LATER THAN JANUARY 9TH, 2019; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka ("City") does have a complete record of Police Department and Parks and Recreation Vehicles; and WHEREAS, having functional vehicles is a necessity for both departments and regular maintenance to all vehicles may stop the incurrence of additional and unnecessary expenses by the City; and WHEREAS, City desires that a complete assessment of Police Department and Parks and Recreation Vehicles is completed and a maintenance schedule is created for all vehicles. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. RECITALS ADOPTED. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. SECTION 2. AUTHORIZATION The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby directs the City Manager to assess all City of Opa-Locka Police Department and Parks and Recreation vehicles, create a schedule of maintenance for all vehicles and report all findings to the City Commission no later than January 9th, 2019. SECTION 3. SCRIVENER'S ERRORS. Sections of this Resolution may be renumbered or re-lettered and corrections of typographical errors which do not affect the intent may be authorized by the City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, without need of public hearing, by filing a corrected copy of same with the City Clerk. SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption and is subject to the approval of the Governor or his designee.
