RESOLUTION NO. 19-9597
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, APPROPRIATING $3,000.00 FOR TRAVEL
EXPENSES FOR THE MAYOR, CITY MANAGER & PUBLIC
WORKS DIRECTOR TO TRAVEL TO TALLAHASSEE TO LOBBY
AND PURSUE FUNDING FOR CITY PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES;
REQUESTING APPROVAL FROM THE CHIEF INSPECTOR
GENERAL/OVERSIGHT BOARD OF APPROPRIATION;
REQUESTING THAT THE CHIEF INSPECTOR GENERAL
COORDINATE A MEETING WITH THE JOINT LEGISLATIVE
AUDITING COMMITTEE (JLAC); PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, representatives of the City of Opa-locka ("City") need to meet face-to-
face with legislators to lobby for funding for city projects and initiatives; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the City need to meet with JLAC to discuss the
enforcement actions taken against the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is in the best interest of the City to
have representatives travel to Tallahassee to personally meet with legislators and lobby for
funding.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. RECITALS ADOPTED.
The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. AUTHORIZATION
The City Commission hereby appropriates $3000.00 for travel expenses for the
Mayor, City Manager and Public Works Director to travel to Tallahassee to lobby and
pursue funding for City Projects and Initiatives, requests approval of the
appropriation from the Chief Inspector General/Oversight Board and requests that the
Chief Inspector General coordinates a meeting between JLAC and City
representatives.

Section 3. SCRIVENER'S ERRORS.
Sections of this Resolution may be renumbered or re-lettered and corrections of
typographical errors which do not affect the intent may be authorized by the City
Manager, or the City Manager's designee, without need of public hearing, by filing a
corrected copy of same with the City Clerk.
Section 4. EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption and is subject to the
approval of the Governor or his designee.
