A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNW00D DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A
SPECIAL ELECTION IN CERTAIN INHABITED TERRI-
TORY CONTIGUOUS TO SAID CITY PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED THERETO,.FOR THE.PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS RESIDING IN SAID TER-
RITORY THE QUESTION WI-IETHER OR NOT SAID TERRI-
TORY SHALL BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE WHEN AND Wf�RE ANY
PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRI-
TORY MAY APPEAR BEFORE SAID CITY COUNCIL AND
� SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE SO
ANNEXED. (MIDLANDS DISTRICT ANNEXATION N0. 1)
BE IT.RESOLVED'by the City Council of the City of Lynwood
as follows:
Section 1: It is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Lynwood to call a special election, giving at least fifty (50)
days notice thereof, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified
electors residing in certain inhabited territory contiguous to said
city the question whether or not said territory shall be annexed to
the City of Lynwood.
Section 2: That said territory hereby is designated_and
identified for such election purposes and for use upon the ballots
. at such election a,s "Midlands District Annexation No. 1" and is des-
cribed as follows:
Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Lot 21, Block
12, of Belle Vernon Acres, as shown on map recorded in
Book g, page 196 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County,
California, said point being on the boundary line of the
City of Lynwood as same existed January 15 1953 thence
• nbrtherly along sa,id boundary line and following the same
in all its various courses to the northwesterly
corner of Lot 10, Block D of Tract No. 4827, as
shown on map recorded in Book 54, pages 25 and 26 of
Maps, Records of said County, said last described point
being on the boundary line of the City of Compton, as
same existed January 15 1953 thence southerly along said
last mentioned boundary line and following the same in
all its various courses to the point of beginning.
Section 3: Notice hereby is given that on the lst day of
March i955 at the hour of 8:00 p.m, in the Council Chambers of the
City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, any person owning
real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed and havin$

any objection to the proposed annexation may appear before said City
Council and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed.
Such protest must be in writing and shall state the name or names o.f
the owner or owners of the property affected by such annexation and
the location and area of such property in general terms, If it be
£ound that protest is not made by owners of a majority of the separate
parcels of property within the territory proposed to be annexed, further
proceedings shall be taken in accordance with the law for the holding
of such special election.
Section 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution�and.is hereby direct,ed to cause a copy of same to be
published once a week for two successive weeks prior to said hearing �
, in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of General Circulation, printed and
published in said City of Lynwood, and also in the Herald-American, a
newspaper of general circulation, published outside of the City of
Lynwood but within the County of Los Angeles, and circulated within
the said territory proposed to be annexed.

and foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the
