'a:HEREAS, purs�zant to the provisiona cQ Diviaion � of the
Streets znd iiighways Code, cited as tne ��Special Assessment Inveati-
gation Limitation and NIajority Protest Act of 1�31°, the City Council
of the Cit�r of Lynwood has determined tnat the iniprovement of L•ong �
Beach toulevard *rcm Lynwood Road to Josephine Street, as proposed
in Resolution IQo. 24�85 of said Cit,y is fe�sible, and tnat tne public
intereat, convenience, and neoessit,y require the improvement subatan-
tially as aet forth in said report, and.
�rdHF�'cEAS, said City Council has found that the lande to be
assessed will be able to stand the burden of the propoaed asseasment,
IQOL�J, mgEREFORE, BE IT RE80L•VED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwoo�. as �ollowe: �
Section 1: That in the opinion of the City Cov.ncil of the
City of Lynwood tne public intereat and conveni.ence rea_uire and it ia
the intention oY said Gity Council to order the Pollowing work, or
improvement, to be done, to-trit:
Tne remova.l of certlin existing ligr_ting standard.a and
acces�ory equipment and the construction and installation of an oi�na.-
mental 5treet lighting system, together with incidental and appurtenant
work in LONG BEACH BOULEVARD between a, line twenty-five feet (25�}
northerly of ano. para11e1 to the northerly line of Lynr,*ood. Road and
the soutn line of Joaephine Street, including portions of intersecting
streets.
All of said worx or improvement snall be performed in the
public t•ra,ys and between the limita hereinbefore deaignated except
where the plane indicate that said work shall be omitted.
That all of the taorl� or improvement a,foresaid shall be done
and perPormed. in accoro.ance with and to the gr2des ahown on Plans and

Specifications t�o. 1953-A-3 on £ile in the office of the Cit, C1erk
of said Cit,y. Said pla.n3 are hereU� rePerred to for a full and com-
plete description of�said proposed Uzork and for the gradea to which
the �rorii is to be done and said plans aad s�ecificatione are by
reference made a part hereoi and shall govern for all details of the
proposed wor�. .
That tne total eatimated cost of said worK or improvement
is the aum oP Four Thousand Idine hundred Twenty-five �nd 76/100ths
Dollara (�4,925,76). '
Section 2: lhat sAid contemplated work or improvement,, in
the opinion of said Cit,y Cou_ncil, is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, and said City Council hereby determinea and declares
that tha district to be benefited by said vrork, or im�rovement, and
to be assessed to pay the coets and expenses of such.wortc or improve-
ment, is shown on Plan No 1953-A-4 on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said City, to orhich reference is hereby ma�e for a fu11 and
complete description oF the assesament district.
Section 3: The City Council hereby determinea and declaree
that serial bonds eha17. be iasued in the manner a.nd �orm provided in �
Division 7 of t'r_e Streeta and Highways Code cited as the "Improvement
Act oY 1911", as amended, bearing interest at the rate of ai� per cent
per annum to repreaent eaeh asseasment of Twenty-five Dollare (�p25.00)
or over, remaining unpaid Por thirty daya after the d.ate of recordation
of the warrant; eaid serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine
yeare from the second. day of Januar,y next aucceeding the next October
Pifteenth following their date. Said bonds and interest thereon ahall
be paid at the office of the City Treasurer and the same sha11 be dis-
bursed by him, all as provided in the s�id "Inprovement Act of 1911",
as amended,
Section 4: Notice is hereb,y given that the provisions of
that certain Act of the Legi�lature of the State of California deaig-
r.ated as tne Streete and fiighway� Code Division 4, cited as the

"Special Aasessment Inveatigation Limitation and l�a�ority Proteet Act
of 1931", as amended, have heretofore been ful7_y complied with an� all
the-reporta required under the provieions of eaid Act are on file in
the ofPice of the City Glerk of said City, open to public inspection,
and nay there be examiried by all i.ntereated persona.
Section 5: The proceedin�s for the aforesaid tvork or im-
provement, shall be taken under an Act of the Legislature of the State
o� California deaignated as the Streets and HighUra,ys Code, Di•vision 7
cited. ae the �'Improvement Act of 1911" , and amenc7ments thereto.
Section 5: The Cit,y Engineer is hereby directed to make a
fliagram of the property afFected or benefited by saic propoaed work
or improvement as described herein and to Ue asseased. to pay the coete
and er.penaes of said work, showing each separate lot, piece, or parcel
of land and the d.imensiona of each such lot, piece, or barcel of land
and the relative location of tne same to the wor�, or improvement,
p to be done, all o�ithin the limite oP said a.seesament diatrict.
Section 7; Ivotice ie hereb,y given tha.t on Tueaday, the sth
day of D�ay, i953 at the hour of 8 o'clock p.m., at the Cour.cil Chambera
in the City Ha11, 1i33i Pi�.z� Street, in the Cit,y of Lynwood, an,y and
all nersone riaving any ob,jections or protest� to said propoaed work or
improver�ent, or to tne extent of tne district to be aeseased or to the
gradee to whicn the Hrork is proposed to be done, ma,y appear before said
City Council and show ca.use why said propoaed. work or improvement snould
not be carried out in accordance tivith this Resolvtion.
S.ection 8: The City Engineer, wno is the Superintendent of
Streets, is hereby d.irected to poat notices of the passage of t his
Reaolution in the time, form, a.nd manner reouired by 1aw,
S.ection 9: The City Clerk enall certify to the bassage of
thia Resolvtion by the City Council oi said City of Lynwood and cause
the sane to be puUlished twice in �he Lynwood Pres�, a weekl,y newepaper
nublished and circulated in said City and hereby designated by �aid

to mail notices of the a.doption of this Reaolution of Intention in the
time, form, and manner, and to the persons, all aa provided in said
