BE IT RESOLVED by tne City Council of the City oP Lynwood,
California, as �ollowa:
L�JHE�EAS, pursuant to an Act of the Legislatv.re of the State
of California, approved April 24, 1937, and known as the "Labor Code",
the City Council of the City of L,ynt000d. is required to ascertain the
general preva.iling rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing
rate o£ per diem tiragea for legal holidays and overtime work, in thie
locality, for each cra?'t or t,ype of laborer, workman, or r�echanic
need.ed to execute the proposed contract for the construction of•an
ornamental atreet lighting system, together with incidental and appur-
tenant work, as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention
No. 2495, in accordance with Plans and Specificatione No 7953-A-3 on
file in the ofPice of the City Clerk:of,the said Cit,y oY Lynwood.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Cit,y Council of the Gity oP Lynwood does
hereby reaolve as follovrs:
Section l: The City Council of the City of L,ynwood does
hereby aecertain and_ determine that the general nrevailing rate of
hourly wages, in the locality in which said work or improvement is to
be done, for each craft or type of laborer, workman, or mechanic needed
to execute the contract for furnishing and delivering certain materiale
and aupplies in connection with the improvement hereinabove describeed
and in accordance with Plans and Specifications No. 1953-A-3 on i'i1e

Provided that not less than one and one-half times the pre-
vailing rate shall be paid ior anv working time more than eight hours
during an,y one calendar day, and, for time on Saturdays, Sunda3rs, and
the several legal holidaye, to-wit: New Year's Da,y, Memorial Day,
Fourth of July, Labor Da,y, Armiatice Day, Thankagiving Da,y, and
Christmas Day.
Provided that notVrithatanding the general provision contained
herein, Flagmen, Gua.rds, and Watchmen shall be paid one and one-half
timea the prevailing rate Por overtime (overtime sha.11 be time worked
in excesa of eigYit hours per da,y or forty houra per week), and the
straight prevailing rate Yor time �rorked on Saturdays, Sundays, and
Holidays where such time does not constitute overtine,
The foregoing prevailing wage schedule is based upon a. work-
in� day of eight hours, and in the event that laborers, tivork�aen, or
mechanciea are employed. less than eight hours per day, the rate of per
d.iem wagea shall be deemed to be that Praction oP the foregoing rates
that�the number of hours of employment bears to eight.
The rate of compenaation for any classification not liated
in the schedule, but which may be required td execute the propoaed work,
shall be commeneurate and in accord with the rates apeciPied for similar
