HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-19-2015THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MARCH 19, 2015 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, March 19, 2015 in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5t^ Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Tony Foster. Absent was Dick Foore. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen City Clerk; Police Lt. Donnie Benedict; JohnsManville General Manager Dave Young; Sharon Palmer, Metropolitan Development; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foster moved to approve the March 12, 2015 minutes, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT None REQUESTS • NOISE VARIANCE Johns Manville — April 8 — June 5, 2015 This variance is during the time Contractors will be working 24/7 to rebuild a Glass Furnace. Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • TRAFFIC CONTROL Girls, Inc. —17th Annual 5k Runs/Walk Saturday, May 16, 2016; 7:30 —10:00 am • Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried_ • NEW HANDICAP PARKING SIGNS 222 North I r Street Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. BID OPENINGS ASBESTOS INSPECTION — BLIGHT ELIMINATION PROGRAM Bids were received as follows: Heartland Environmental $ 240.00 /each Cardno ATC $1,300.00 /each Donovan Inspections $ 484.00 /each TRC $ 780.00 /each Truth Consulting $1,404.00 /each Environmental Management $ 750.00 /each AMEC Foster Wheeler $2,500.00 /each Pinnacle Environmental $45,575.00/total Aegis Environmental $ 550.00 /each SSI Services $ 545.00 /each Ameresco $ 475.00 /each These bids were referred to the Department of Metropolitan Development for due diligence. NORTH 19TH STREET CURB PROJECT Bids were received as follows: Rinehart Landscaping $15,261.00 ProLawn Care $ 5,500.00 Cooley Contracting $12,900.00 These bids were taken under advisement. BID AWARDS None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 34-016 — CONTEMPORARY CONSULTING Identifying the City's role in economic development efforts, etc. Not to exceed $20,000.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. CHANGE ORDERS None ADDENDUMS • CONTRACT NO. 83-2012 — ADDENDUM NO.1 Trademark Construction — repair of kitchen ceiling and walls — 215 South 10th Street Not to exceed $1,370.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 110-2012 — ADDENDUM NO.1 Trademark Construction — repair of back door — 216 South 10'" Street Not to exceed $442.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson.
