HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-09-2015THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 9, 2015 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, April 9, 2015, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Tony Foster and Dick Foore. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen City Clerk; Police Lt. Donnie Benedict; Deputy Fire Chief Tim Brown; City Planner Sarah Mitchell; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foore moved to approve the April 2, 2015 minutes, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foster moved to approve the April 10, 2015 Claims for Payment in the amount of Three Hundred Sixty One Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty One Dollars and ninety one cents ($361,921.91). Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • HANDICAP SIGN RENEWAL 242 SW 4th Street Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • STREET CLOSURE SETON SPRING FESTIVAL May 2, 2015 — 8:30 am —10:00 pm South "C" Street — 4th — 6th Street Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • NOISE VARIANCE SETON SPRING FESTIVAL May 2, 2015 — 8:30 am — 10:00 pm South "C" Street — 4th — 6th Street\ Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CREATION OF LEFT TURN LANE South Bound traffic at the intersection of NW 5th and Main Streets With left turn arrow signal light and re- striping the lane Board of Works Minutes April 9, 2015 Page 2 of 2 • EARLHAM SADLER STADIUM SIGNAGE Earlham has requested signage at the following intersections to direct people to the Baseball Stadium: College Avenue and SW "G" Street SW "G" Street and SW 51' Street SW 5th Street and Earlham Drive Abington Pike and Earlham Drive Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS - None BID AWARDS - None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 43-2015 — JAMES H. DREW CORPORATION Installation of Guard Rail at 1005 South "Q" Street Not to exceed $8,680.25 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 44-2015 — ELMHURST HONOR GUARD ACADEMY Professional services in connection with the Honor Guard Basic Training Course Not to exceed $3,750.00 Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS — None ADDENDUMS • CONTRACT NO. 13-2015 WRECKER SERVICE ADDED TO TOWING ROTATION Rose Towing and Recovery Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.
