HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-16-2015THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 16, 2015 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, April 16, 2015, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5'^ Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Tony Foster and Dick Foore. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen City Clerk; Police Lt. Donnie Benedict, Grant administrator Sharon Palmer, Street Superintendent Tracy Bosell; David Mears, Milestone Contractors; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foore moved to approve as presented, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foster moved to approve the Claims for Payment dated April 17, 2015 in the amount of Three Hundred and One Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty Four Dollars and fifty two cents ($301,834.52), supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • STREET CLOSURE Italian Fest - May 16, 2015 - 6 pm -12 am Fort Wayne Avenue, Elm Place, North 81h Street from D to E and under the bridge on 9t' Street. It has also been requested that the sidewalk be blocked from Little Shebas to the Firehouse to contain walkers. Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • NOISE VARIANCE Italian Fast - May 16, 2015 - 6 pm -12 am Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • HANDICAP SIGN RENEWAL 203 South 1411" Street Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS • AGGREGATE AND BITUMINOUS MATERIALS Bids were received from: Barrett Paving US Aggregates Board of Works Minutes April 16, 2015 Page 2 of 2 Milestone Contractors Irving Materials Ernst Concrete All were taken under advisement for due diligence. BID AWARDS • 2015 CONTRACT MOWING Prol-awn Care and Landscaping Not to exceed $22.00 /hour This item was referred to the Department of Parks and Recreation. CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 45-2015 — PROLAWN CARE AND LANDSCAPING 300 feet of curb in the 800 & 900 block of North 19th Street Not to exceed $5,500.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 47-2015 — HEARTLAND ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATES, INC. Blight Elimination Program - inspection, sampling, lab analysis and remediation plan Not to exceed $240.00 /property to be paid by the City of Richmond and reimbursed by the Blight Elimination Program Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS - None ADDENDUMS - None RESOLUTIONS - None PETITIONS - None ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
