BE IT REBOLVED b,y the City Council of the City of Lynwood
as followa:
Section 1: That it ie the intention of the City Council
of the City of Lynwood to call � special election to be held on the
14th day of April 1953 in certain inhabited territory contiguous
to aaid city, proposed to be annexed thereto, ior the purpoee oF sub-
mitting to the qua.lified electors residing in said territory the quea-
tion Vrhether or not said territory shall be annexed to the City of
Lynwood.
Said territory ie described as folloara;
Be�inning at the intersection of the westerly line of the
first alley easterly oP Atlantic Avenue and the center line of Beech-
wood Avenue, said point being on the boundary line of the City oP
Lynwood as said boundary line existed July 28, 1952; thence aoutherly
along said bound� ry�line and following the aeme in all its various
courses to the southeaaterly corner oP Tract DTo, 10614 as shown on
r�ap recorded in Book 211, pa.gea 38 and 39 of Mapa, in the oPfice of
the Recorder of the County of Loe Angeles; tnence northerly alor� the
easterly line of said tract a.nd continuin�; northerly along the eaeterly
line of Tract No. 6728 ae eho�rn on map recorded in Book 125, pages 19
and 20 of eaid Maps to the northeasterly corner of said last mentioned
tract; thence easterly along the southerly line of Century boulevard
(formerly Norton �oad) 50 feet wide as shown on said last mentioned
map to the weaterly line of ilright Road 33 feet wide as ehotan on map
filed in Book 4�3, page 44 of Record of Surve,ys in tne office of saicl
recorder; thence along said westerly line 9outh 20 h'est to the
westerly prolongation of a li�ne shown on said last mentioned map ae
having a bearing of South 6� 37'36�� East and intersecting the center
line of said Glright Road at a point distant southerly thereon 1014,95
feet Yrom the center line of Century Boulevard (for�aerly P4orton Road)
as eaid laet mentioned center line ia shown on said last mentioned map;
thence South 6� East to a line that is parallel with eaid center
line oP `s^7right Road and distant easterly 180..05 £eet measured along the
southerly line of Parcel 1 oP said Record of Surveys and the t�resterly
prolongation thereof from aaid last mentioned center line; thence
southerly along said last mentioned parallel line to eaid last mentioned
• southerly line, said last mentioned southerly line being also the
northerly line of Lot 6 0£ Slau�son Tr�.ct as ahoorn on map recorded
in Boo'_� 3, page 348 of Piiscellaneous Records in the office of said
recorder; said last described line being also the boundary line of
tne City of Lynwood as said bovndary line exiated July 28, 1952;
thence easterly alon� said boundary 11ne and follotiving the same in
all its various coursea to ite intersection vrith the produced
center line of Beechwood Avenue, thence weeterly along said last
described line and the center line of Beechwood.Avenue to the
point of beginning,
Section 2: That said territory hereby is designated and
identified Por auch election purposes and for use upon the ballote
at euch election as "Lugo Park Annexation District No. 1".
• section 3: Notice hereby is given that on the 17th day
of March, 1953 at the hour of 8:00 p,m „ in the Council Cnamber of
the City Hall of the City oi Lynwood, an,y person o real property
within said territory Ao proposed to be annexed and having any ob-
�ection to the proposed annesation may appear before said City Council
and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed. Such
protest must be in t�rriting and ahall state the name or na�es of the
owner or ownera of the property affected by auch annexation and the
location and area of such property in general terse. If it be found
that protest ie not made by ownera of a ma�ority of the separate parcel's
of property within the territory proposed to be annexed, further pro-
ceedin�e ahall be taken in accordance with the law for the holding of
such apecial election.
Section 4; The Cit,y Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and ia hereb,y directed to cauae a copy of�same to be
published once a week for two auccesaive weeks prior to said hearing
in the Herald-American, a newspaper of general circulation, puUlished
outeide of the City of Lynt�ood but within the County of Los Angeles,
and circulated within the said territory proposed to be annexed.
