DIRECTOfiS OF TAF. CENTRAL BABIN 2NDIICIPAL YJATER
DISTRIC^1 TO TAKE VP:ATEVFR ACTION NECESSARY TO
aCCOMPLISE ANNEXATION TO THE b4ETROPOLITAPd k7ATER
DIBTRICT OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.
�9HEREAS, the inhabitanta of the City of Lynwood are wholly
in reliance for water upon tnat which ma,y be obtained from welle
producing from the Centra.l Baein ground-water suppl,y, and
WHEREAS, an udecauate, derendable and continuous supply oP
water is vital and necessar,y to the continued welfare of the inha.bi-
tants oP the Citp of Lynwood, and
WfiEREA9, w�.ter levela of Central Basin ground-water reser-
voir have been lo�vering for several yeara pa.st, indicating L:iat the
suppl,y o£ wate'r obtainable from *n�ells is dwindling and that water
produced from vaella far exceeds in volume t!�at which natt;re provid.ea
as replenishment to the Central Ba.sin F;round-water reservoir, and
'a�IIE_REAS, an adeauate supply of new water can be obtained
from The hietropolitan Water District of Southern California under
certain terms and conditions which include the anne�:ation of Central
Baein Municipa.l G�la.ter District,
NOS�I, TfiEREFORE, BE I�P t"tF,SOLVED, that the City Council of
the City o£ Lynwood inform the Board. oi Directora of Central Ba.ein
hfunicipal SJater D'istrict of the need of the inhabitante of the City
for a firm, adequate, and dependa.ble source of new water supply to
augment that obtained from wells and that the said Board o�' Directors
be urged and reqveated to initiate proceedings neceasary to a.ccom-
plish annexation of.the Central Basin Municipal Vdater Diatrict to
tne T�fetropo7.i.t�n Ld�ter Di3trict of �outnern Ca.lif�rnia in order that
such new source of depend,ab7e oaater will become available at the
earliest po�sible date, and '
BE IT rURTHEn RESOLVED, tha.t a certiiied_ copy of this
