HomeMy Public PortalAbout04/04/1934TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA MINUTES OF TOWN COMMSSSION, APRIL 4th, 1934 A regular meeting of the Town Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, was held at the Town Hall of said Town on the 4th day of April, A. D. 1934. Commissioners DeParlier, Adams and Adems were present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. It was called to the attention of the Town Commission that the 1933 tax roll had been re- delivered to the Town Tax Assessor, immediately after the regular meeting held on March 7th, 1934, and that the Town Tax Assessor had calculated and leived the necessary taxes against the property shown on the 1933 tax roll and had filed said 1933 tax roll with the Town Commission and asked that the same be carefully examined and approved. The Town Commission immediately examined and carefully checked the figures as shown on the 1933 tax roll and found the same to be correct, The following resolution was offered for adoption, to -wit: "Be it resolved by the Town Commission that the 1933 tax roll of the Town of Gulf Stream, as finally complied and prepared by the Tax Assessor, and as filed by him with the Town Commission, be, and the same is hereby ratified and adopted as the 1933 tax roll of the Town of Gulf Stream, and that the two additional copies of said tax roll are hereby ratified and approved. "Be it further resoled that the amount of taxes set down in said roll, opposite of each name on parcel of land, therein described, is hereby ratified, approved and adopted. "Be it further resolved that said tax roll with the tax assessments and warrants adopted be delivered to the Tax Collector of the Town of Gulf Stream on or before the 1st day of November, A. D. 1934, with instructions for the said Tax Collector to proceed to c311ect said taxes as shown on tax roll, according to law." "Be it further resolved that the following warrant as required by Section 49 of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Gulf Stream, be attached to the 1933 Tax Roll by the Tax Assessor in the following form to-wit- "The Town of Gulf Stream, To . ............................... Tax Collector of said Town You are hereby commanded to collect out of the real estate, and from each of the persons and corporations named in the assessment roll, the taxes set down in such roll opposite each name, or parcel of land therein described, and in case the taxes so imposed are not paid by the time prescribed by ordinance, you are to collect the same by levy and sale of the lands and tenements, so assessed, or of the person or corporation so taxed; and all sums collected you are to pay into the Town treasury as prescribed by ordinance; and you are further required to make all collections on or before the first day of April; and on or before the first Monday in July you will make a final report to, and settlement with, the Town Commission.
