HomeMy Public PortalAbout2007-031 Resolution Authorizing Publication of Ord 423Member Weir introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2007-31 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 423 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No.423 an ordinance amending city code section 625.03 regarding the regulation of on -sale liquor licenses; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 423 is three pages in length; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 423 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 423. The ordinance amends section 625.03 of the city code regarding on -sale liquor licenses. The ordinance amends how the class of an on -sale liquor license is determined. The ordinance establishes four classes of licenses based on the square footage of the premises, while previous regulations included three classes. The new classes are as follows: Class A (in excess of 20,000 sq. ft.), Class B (12,000- 20,000 sq. ft.), Class C (6,000-12,000 sq. ft.), and Class D (less than 6,000 sq. ft.). A copy of the complete ordinance is available from the city administrator -clerk at Medina city hall. Chad M. Adams, City Administrator -Clerk BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk keep a copy of the ordinance in his office at city hall for public inspection and that he post a full copy of the ordinance in a public place within the city.
