HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-14-2010THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, OCTOBER 14, 2010 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, October 14, 2010, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members Vicki Robinson, Dian Lawson and Mary Jo Flood. Also attending were Assistant City Attorney Kim Vessels, Major Bob Hobson and Candi Gwin. The following business was conducted: CALL TO ORDER Robinson called the meeting to order and noted for the minutes that all board members and legal counsel are present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Robinson made a request to the board to approve the minutes for the October 7, 2010 meeting. Flood moved to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Robinson made a request to the board to approve the claims for payment in the amount of $354,256.87. She explained of that total $72,413.51 was paid to Richmond Power & Light for electrical cost including street lights; $19,692.10 was paid to Protection One Alarm for the card access system for the City Building; $208,243.00 was paid to Milestone for Paving — Phase I; $10,690.82 was paid to Pro Lawn Care for Curb/Ramp Project — Phase I and $10,489.50 was paid to Clark Dietz for Engineering Services for South "E" Street. Lawson moved to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. NOISE VARIANCE A. Robinson made a request to the board to approve a Noise Variance on October, 16, 2010 at 1215 NW 4th Street from 6:00 PM to 12:00 Midnight for a Wedding Reception Block Party with live music provided. Flood moved to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. Board of Works Minutes October 14, 2010 Page 2 of 2 NEW RESIDIENTIAL HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGNS A. Robinson made a request to the board to approve a new residential handicapped parking sign at 114 North 22nd Street for James W. Smith. Lawson moved to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. B. Robinson made a request to the board to approve a new residential handicapped parking sign at 738 South 10t11 Street for Melinda Tegeler. Flood moved to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. CONTRACTS A. Robinson made a request to the board to approve Contract No. 143 -2010 with Pemberton Fabricators, Inc. for a gallon "Prover" used by the Weights and Measures Inspector not to exceed $23,356.00. Lawson moved to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. B. Robinson made a request to the board to approve Contract No. 144 -2010 with Wetzel Family Auto for a 2010 Dodge Journey for the Richmond Police Department in the amount of $19,728.00. Flood moved to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed unanimously.
