HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-21-2010THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, OCTOBER 21, 2010 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, October 21, 2010, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members Vicki Robinson, Dian Lawson and Mary Jo Flood. Also attending were Assistant City Attorney Kim Vessels, Sergeant Brian Ervin and Jeremy Reynolds from Reynolds Service Tech Inc. The following business was conducted: CALL TO ORDER Robinson called the meeting to order and noted for the minutes that all board members and legal counsel were present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Robinson made a request to the board to approve the minutes for the October 14, 2010 meeting. Lawson moved to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Robinson made a request to the board to approve the claims for payment for October 22, 2010 in the amount of $313,778.57. She explained of that total $120,558.51 was paid to Strawser Construction for the Micro Surfacing Project: $10,497.50 was paid to Pro Lawn Care for Curb/Ramp Project Phase I; $22,655.00 was paid to LSL Planning for Consultation for Transportation Grant and $34,065.63 was paid to Eastern Alliance for Workers' Compensation Claims. Flood moved to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. STREET CLOSURES A. Robinson brought to the board a request that was presented by Sergeant Brian Ervin and submitted by Reynolds Service Tech Inc for the closure of Backmeyer Road from Cedar Cliff Drive to Garwood on November 2, 2010 with a rain date of November 4, 2010 to install a new residential sanitary tap. Lawson moved to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. B. Robinson brought to the board a request that was presented by Sergeant Brian Ervin and submitted by A -Plus Signs Inc for the closure of the 800 Block of East Main Street on October 25, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM to install a temporary banner Board of Works Minutes October 21, 2010 Page 2 of 2 for Hoppe Jewelers. Flood moved to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. C. Robinson brought to the board a request that was presented by Sergeant Brian Ervin and submitted by Sophie Ottoni - Wilhelm for the closure of the following streets on December 3, 2010 from 5:45 PM to around 8:30 PM for the Annual Main Street Holiday Parade: 1. Main Street from 6th Street to 10th Street 2. Main Street to "A" Street on 6th Street 3. Also the closure of the North 7th Street Parking Lot Lawson moved to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned.
