RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A REVISED
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX Al'\'D THE
BOROUGH OF CARTERET -2010 MUNICIPAL MILLL'lG & PAVING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Interiocal Services Act, N.J,S.A. 40:SA-I et seq" encourages counties and
municipalities to enter into contracts for the joint provision of services in order to effectuate
economies in government costs to reduce property ta'(es and provides legal authority and
procedures to effectuate such agreements; and
WHEREAS, tbe County of Middlesex (the "County") and the Borough of Carteret (the
"Borough") are desirous of entering into such a revised Interlocal Services Agreement providing
for the milling and resurfacing of various streets within the Borough in conjunction with the
2010 Municipal Milling and Paving Program: and
WHEREAS, this agreement will effectuate economy by coordinating the milling and resurfacing
of various Borough streets with the 2010 Nlunicipal Milling and Paving Program; and
WHEREAS, in accord witb N,J.S.A. 40:SA-4, said proposed contract is available and open to
public inspection at the Office of the Carteret Municipal Clerk, Carteret Municipal Building, 61
Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey, between the hours of8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret as follows:
I, That Ibe Mayor and Bo,ough Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the proposed
revised Interlocal Services Agreement with the County of Ivliddlesex providing
for the milling and resurfacing of various Borough .streets as detailed in said
Agreement and in a form acceptable to the Borough Attorney.
2, That a certified copy of this Resolution with original signatures and the Borough
Seal, along with three executed copies of the aforementioned revised Interlocal
Services Agreement, be forwarded to David R. Campion, Director of Public
Works, for processing.
