3 . Housing Coordinator Position — no new information available
4 . Housing Production Plan -
- Discussion regarding Recommendation # 1 ( zoning by- law change re : accessory dwellings )
- Benefit to the town vs . density, potential septic issues, consider lot size
- Are there opportunities for the town to offer incentives?
5 . Accessory dwelling by- laws -
- Guest, local realtor and Brewster resident Ned Chatelain discussed Accessory Dwelling Unit ( ADU )
regulations from town to town, recent by- law passage in Falmouth . Discussion included :
- Acknowledgement that units already exist
- Towns support ADU opportunites for "aging in place" for elders
- Brewster' s policy lacks clarity and there is some conflicting information about ADUs
- Cape Cod Commission has created model zoning provisions for ADUs that were also shared
with the SmarterCape Partnership
- BHP should consider creating a brochure that clarifies the ADU process for the public
- Questions about potential deed restrictions; Diane will research .
