SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
JUNE 16, 2017
1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Sternquist called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 6:08 p.m. in
the Council Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue, Temple City.
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Councilmember—Chavez, Fish, Yu, Man, Sternquist
ABSENT: Councilmember — None
ALSO PRESENT: Deputy City Clerk Nunez
3. NEW BUSINESS
A. INTERVIEW COMMISSIONER APPLICANTS FOR COMMISSION SEATS WITH
UNEXPIRED TERM AND SEATS EXPIRING JUNE 30, 2017
The City Council is requested to interview applicants to fill unexpired seats and
seats expiring June 30, 2017 on City Commissions.
Council interviewed applicants to fill one unexpired vacant seat on the
Transportation and Public Safety Commission, 3 seats on the Planning
Commission, 3 seats on the Transportation and Public Safety Commission, and 3
seats on the Parks and Recreation Commission.
City Council discussed and collaborated on the candidate interviews and
unanimously approved to appoint incumbent candidates John Cordes and Helen
Marston to the Planning Commission, Cynthia Vance, Lance Baroldi, and Joanne
Rosso to the Parks and Recreation Commission, and Jim Clift and Douglas Blatt
to the Transportation and Public Safety Commission.
Councilmember Chavez made a motion to appoint Betty Kwan to the
Transportation and Public Safety Commission and Noel Palmieri to the fill the
unexpired seat expiring June 30, 2017 on the Transportation and Public Safety
Commission. Seconded by Councilmember Yu.
Councilmember Chavez made a motion to appoint Jeffrey Lee to the Planning
' Commission. Seconded by Councilmember Fish.
