A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL Or THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPOINTING HOWARD HEMENWAY CITY ATTORNEY,
AND FIXING THE 3ALARY FOR THE OFFICE OF CITY
ATiO_RNEY OF $AID CITY, AND PROVIDING FOR THE
COP•4PENSATION FOR EXTRA EMPLOYD4ENT.
The City Council of the Citq of Lynwood does resolve
as follows:
BECTION 1. That effective ae of Februar� l, 1g51,
Howard Hemenway, be and he is hereby appointed and employed as
City Attorney of the City of Lynwood.
SECTION 2. That said appointee ahall receive ae compen-
s�,tion for hie services as City Attorney the aum of Two Thousand
Seven Hundred and No/100 Dollars ('�`2,700.00) per year, payable in
turelve equal monthly inatallments; and it is understood that said
services ehall include svch work as may be necessary to proaecute
crimin�.l violations of municipal ordinances of said city, and ahall
include services to municipal utilities; provided, however, that
for servicea rendered by the City Attorney outside of the County of
L•os Angelea, and for services rendered in the preparation of munici-
pal bond issues, and for bond issues for municipally owned public
utilities and for services rendered in actione brought against or on
behalf of the City in the courts, and appearances and nearings before
administrative boarda, other than those of tne City of Lynwood, and
in hearings before �ny of the commissions of the State of California,
or for an,y proceedings initiated or undertalten under public improve-
ment acta, the City Attorney shall be paid, in addition to the fore-
going salary, such compensation �.s 3ha11 be commensurate with the
servicea rendered. However, in the performance of said services
heretofore deacribed as of an extraordinary nature, the City Attorney
shall keep a time sheet urhich ehall coneist of a written record kept
b,y him of the time actuall,y devoted to each aeparate service of an
extraordinary nature performed by him, and,the compensation of•said
City Attorney for eaid services shall be the reasonable value thereof

to be paid to said City Attorney at the conclusion of the perform-
ance thereof or the sooner termination of his aervices in connection
therewith.
SECTION 3. That said appointee further agrees to devote
at least one full businesa day each week to City businesa ae the
occasion warrants.
SECTION 4. That the said compensation shall be a.pplied
and be in effect from and after the lst day of February, 1951.
SECTION $., That the City Clerk ahall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution and thenceforth and tnereafter the
eame shall be in full force and ef£ect. '
