1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Sternquist called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 7:04 p.rn. in
the Council Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue, Temple City.

Director Hause, Accountant Ma, City Clerk Kuo, and Deputy

A. PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2017-18 CITY BUDGET
Presentation:
1) Budget Overview
City Manager Cook gave a brief overview of the Proposed Fiscal Year
2017-18 City Budget.
2) Administrative Services Department
Administrative Services Director Hause gave an overview of the
Administrative Services Department's proposed budget.
City Council asked questions and commented on the proposed budget.
City Manager Cook requested Mayor's Sternquist to allow presentation of
the Management Services Department (Sheriff's) out of agenda order.

4) Management Services Department (Sheriff's)
City Manager Cook, Captain Flores, and Public Safety Supervisor Ariizumi
gave an overview of the Management Services Department (Sheriff's)
proposed budget.
Councilmember Chavez stepped out of the meeting at 8:29 pm and
returned at 8:31 pm.
City Council asked questions and commented on the proposed budget.
Staff provided clarification on business license processing procedures.
Councilmember Yu stepped out of the meeting at 8:40 pm and returned at
8:41 pm.
3) Community Development Department
Community Development Director Forbes gave an overview of the
Community Development Department's proposed budget.
City Council asked questions and commented on the proposed budget.
5) Parks and Recreation Department
Parks and Recreation Director Burroughs gave an overview of the Parks
and Recreation Department's proposed budget.
City Council asked questions, commented, and provided feedback on the
proposed budget and new programs that will be offered in Fiscal Year
2017-18.
City Manager Cook spoke briefly about the City's Social Media Policy. Assistant to
the City Manager/Economic Development Manager Haworth provided Council with
an overview of the City's social media sites and expanded on the Social Media
Policy that was adopted in 2012.
City Manager Cook also spoke briefly regarding the adoption of the proposed
Budget for Fiscal Year 2017-18.

The Special City Council meeting was adjourned at 10:09 p.m.
