The City Council is requested to review and approve the Minutes of Regular
C ity Council Meeting of July 5 , 2017 .
Action: Approved .
B . AWARD OF PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACT TO PTM GENERAL
ENGINEERING SERVICES , INC . FOR THE CITYWIDE OVERHEAD
STREET SIGN REPLACEMENT PROJECT (CIP NO . P-12-04 )
Three bids were subm itted to replace the overhead illuminated street signs
citywide with reflect ive metal signs . PTM General Eng i neering Serv i ces , Inc .
was the lowest responsib le bidde r.
Action :
1. Awarded a Pub lic Works Contract to PTM Gene ral Eng ineeri ng Services ,
Inc . as the lowest responsible bidder Citywide Overhead Street S ig n
Replacement Proj ect (CIP No . P12-04);
2 . Authorized the City Manage r to execute the Contract in an amount of
$72 ,270 ; and
3. Authorized 1 0 percent for contingency allowance to be us ed if necessary
at the City Manager's discretion for unforeseen conditions in the amount of
$7 ,227 .

D. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO . 17-5276 APPROVING PAYMENT OF
BILLS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2016-17
The City Counci l is requested to adopt Resolution No . 17-5276 authorizin g the
payment of bills .

E. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO . 17-5277 APPROVING PAYMENT OF
BILLS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017-18
The City Council is requested to adopt Resolution No . 17-5277 authorizing the
payment of bills .
Action: Adopted Resolution No . 17-5277.

12. UPDATE FROM CITY MANAGER
City Manager Cook shared that the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors
approved to increase the number of animals allowed for each household in the Los
Angeles County. However, the number of animals allowed i n Temple City is still
only three .
He addressed the concern regarding the c lothes donation bins , provided an update
on the Las Tunas Drive Beautification project , and provided an update regarding
the 5800 Temple City Boulevard parking lot.
13. UPDATE FROM CITY ATTORNEY
City Attorney Vail info rmed City Council that he will be providing staff w ith a couple
of memos regarding prevailing wages and to code enforcement staff a memo about
dealing with homeless' properties.
14. COUNCIL REPORTS REGARDING AD HOC OR STANDING COMMITTEE
MEETINGS
Counc ilme mber Fish reported on the Library Renovation Ad Hoc Comm ittee 's visit
to the Hacienda Heights Library which is currently be i ng renovated . The Ad Hoc
Committee will be visiting the La Mirada Library renovation next.
Mayor ProTem Man reported on the City Attorney Evaluation Ad Hoc Comm ittee 's
meeting this afternoon . The ad hoc committee w il l meet again shortly to discuss
moving forward with the evaluation and provide an update to City Council shortly .

Mayor Sternqu ist reminded the publ ic to be aware of mosquitos and West Nile
Virus . She also comme nted about curb address painting .
B . CO UN C ILMEMBER CHAVEZ
Counci lm ember Chavez congratulated Parks and Recreation staff for a
successful Camp-a-Palooza event.
C . COU NC ILMEMBER F IS H
Councilmember F ish invited the public to the next City Council meeting with
the Sheriffs and spoke about the S heriff's Volunteer on Patrol Program . She
also encouraged the reside nts to get to know their neighbors to help i ncrease
neighborhood safety.

Councilmember Yu made comments about coyotes in the city.
E . MAYOR PRO TEM MAN
Mayor ProTem Man made comme nts about Athens trash pickup after a
hol iday.
