HomeMy Public PortalAbout062-1998 - Grant - US Dept of JusticeORDINANCE NO. 62-1998 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice has grant funding available to assist in various drug related law enforcement activities; and WHEREAS, the Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application in order to assist with the purchase of fifty-five (55) mobile data communication systems and software. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice for the purchase of mobile data communication systems and software. 2. The Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000.00). 3. Said funds, if awarded to the Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated for the purchase of mobile data communications systems and software.
