A regular meeting of the Town Commission of the Town of Gulf seam, Florida, was held on the 7th day of December, A.D. 1938, at 30 A.M. Commissioners Wallace, Admgr and Bauer were present. It was called to the attention of the Town Commission that the 58 taxes for the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, were now due. Tax ;essor Bauer presented to the Commission the 1938 Tax Roll for its isideration. The Tax Roll was carefully examined and approved. A ;ion was made, seconded and passed accepting the Roll as presented the 1938 Tax Roll of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida. Town Clerk Bauer was instructed to prepare in compliance with stion 7, Article 8, of the Charter Act of the Town of Gulf Stream, )rida a suitable notice and post sane at the Door of the Town Hall, sting that the Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida would ; as a Board of- Equalizers from December 10th to 20th to hear any aplaints regarding taxes or assessments as shown in the 1938 Tax .1. Acting upon the request of residents of the Town, for a night iceman, Mayor Wallace appointed Frank W. Stanley. The Commissioners 9n approved the Mayors appointment of Frank W. Stanley. The following ;ter, signed by the Mayor, was mailed to Frank W. Stanley, December 7th, 1938 Frank W. Stanley Delray Beach, Florida. Dear Sir: At a meeting of the Commissioners Gulf Stream held to -day, your appointment Mr. Wallace, Mayor, was approved. of the Town of as a Policeman by Your employment to start Thursday evening, Dec- ember 8th, 1938 and to continue until further notice. You are to report for duty at 7 p.m. in the evening and patrol the Town until 6 a.m. in the morning, unless further advised. Very truly yours, signed, James N. Wallace, Mayor. The Commissioners also approved the purchase of a complete Lform for Frank W. Stanley. The Commissioners also approved the placing of $25,000.00 L $60,000.00 Personal Liability and Property Damage Insurance on ink W. Stanleys oar as protection for the Town of Gulf Stream iinst suit that might arise from any accident caused by Frank Stanleys car while in the performance of his duties. Town Clerk Bauer reported he had collected $248.79 of 1938 :ea leaving $99.26 unpaid as of this date. He also reported the ik balance as of this date as $1096.98. The commissioners then approved the payment of the following "Aaron T. Smock" Road paint $6.00 "Delray Beach News,, Printing Tax license blanks 2.75 The Conmissioners approved the purchase of a metal filing inet in which to keep records and various papers of the Town.
