MINUTES

MEETING: Public Arts Committee Regular Meeting

Ball, Francie De Vos, Krista Klancke

1. Regular Meeting: Roll Call
Jeff called the meeting to order at 9:00a.m.
2. Minutes
Klancke moved and Vandernail seconded the motion to approve the minutes of March
15, 2019.
Motion carried 7-0.
3. Discussion
a) Fraser Mural Program.
a. The Committee reviewed and discussed applications.
b. Klancke moved and De Vos seconded a motion to approve the Camber
application, subject to Eric and Ernie visiting with Nick to discuss specifics
and artist selection and bringing back to Committee’s next meeting for budget
approval. Motion carried 7-0
c. The Committee requested that staff ask all applicants to revise their
applications and provide a completed submittal for review at the next
meeting.
b) Mural Festival – General updates.
c) 2019 Sculpture Program. Ken Ball outlined his progress to date.
a. De Vos moved and Klancke seconded a motion to retain the 2018 sculptures
and provide the artists an additional $1,000 stipend. Motion carried 7-0
b. De vos moved and Klancke seconded a motion to purchase the Lyle Nichols
work for $1,000 (and allowing $1,000 for installation) and lease the Ted Shaw
work with a $1,000 stipend (and allowing $500 for installation). Motion
carried 7-0
c. The Committee will review locations for these works and additional works at
their next meeting.
