Robert Renn-Vice Chairman Paul Kelleher 116 NOV 22 1 Frank Lucibella Kenneth Rowell Revenue Committee Minutes - November 3, 2016 The November 3rd meeting of the Revenue Committee was called to order at 2:00 PM by chairman John Laurino. Present and constituting a quorum were: Mr. Laurino, Mr. Paul Kelleher, Mr. Ken Rowell, Mr. Frank Lucibella, and Mr. Robert Renn. There was no public comment. The minutes.of the October 26, 2016 meeting were approved - motion by Mr. Rowell, seconded by Mr. Lucibella, approved unanimously. The committee had a brief discussion regarding Mr. Laurino's presentation to the BOS on 11/2/16. Favorable comments have been received from citizens who were either in attendance or watched the proceeding on cable TV. The article in the 11/4/16 edition of the Cape Codder was also favorable. Next, the committee turned its attention to a draft survey that will be sent to members of the Orleans Chamber of Commerce, all Realtors in Orleans, and members of the Orleans Taxpayers Association. It was agreed that the format would be changed so each respondent would grade each question from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). Each question was reviewed and suggested changes were proposed and will be incorporated in the second draft of the survey. The deadline for responses was set at December 16, 2016. Next, the committee discussed the possibility of a public forum where citizens could hear the preliminary recommendations of the committee and make further recommendations. The committee tentatively decided to proceed as follows: • Conduct a preliminary review of recommendations to the BOS/FinCom • Conduct a public forum • Conduct a final review of recommendations to the BOS/FinCom Revenue Committee Minutes - November 3, 2016 Next, the committee discussed the delays encountered in getting a Research Assistant hired to aid the committee in executing its charge. The committee discussed further revisions to the job description that had been proposed by the Town Administrator. Mr. Laurino will work with the Town Administrator to finalize the job description so the job can be posted and filled soon. The committee then discussed the date and time for its next meeting. It is scheduled for 11/18/16 at 2:00 PM at the Town Hall. There being no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Mr. Rowell, seconded by Mr. Kelleher, and approved unanimously, to adjourn at 3:55 PM. Respectfully submitted, Robert D. Renn
