A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE EMERGENCY REPAIR OF THE CITY'S 16" TRANSMISSION LINE WITH THE
METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT, THE CITY'S 8" SEWER MAINLINE (PEACH
STREET AND VIRGINIA AVENUE), AND REPLACEMENT OF A SEWER LATERAL
AT 3733 FERNWOOD AVENUE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR
DESIGNEE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY FUND APPROPRIATION AND TRANSFER
OF $30,000 AND $34,100 FROM THE WATER FUND TO ACCOUNTS NO.
6011.45.450 AND 6011.45.460 RESPECTIVELY
WHEREAS, on July 21, 2010, a contractor accidentally damaged the City's 16"
transmission line with the Metropolitan Water District located on McNerney Avenue just
north of Imperial Highway; and
WHEREAS, on July 29, 2010, during a regular cleaning operation of the sewer
mainline at Peach Street and Virginia Avenue, our staff found a collapsed sewer
mainline that required immediate repair; and
WHEREAS, on September 3, 2010, staff found out that a sewer lateral at 3733
Fernwood Avenue was damaged by City's tree roots and it required immediate
replacement to restore its flow; and
WHEREAS, the repair of the16" water transmission line, the repair of the 8"
sewer mainline, and the replacement of sewer lateral were needed to keep the water
and sewer system in operation.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council approves the emergency repair of the City's
16" transmission line with Metropolitan Water District, the emergency repair of the City's
8" sewer mainline, and the replacement of a sewer lateral at 3733 Fernwood Avenue.
Section 2. That the City Manager or designee is authorized to make the
following funds appropriation and transfer:

Section 3. This Resolution shall take immediate affect upon its adoption.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 4 day of January, 2011.
