Deslauriers for Community ServiceMember Weir introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2007-82 RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND HONORING FORMER CITY COUNCILMEMBER DONALD E. DESLAURIERS FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE TO THE CITY OF MEDINA • WHEREAS, Donald E. DesLauriers died Monday, December 17, 2007 after providing years of residency, public and civic service to the Medina and Hamel community in many capacities; including • City Councilmember (1970 to 1976); • Hamel Volunteer Fire Department (1955 to 2007); • Northwest Suburban Chamber Member for 50 years and later awarded as a Citizen of the Year; • Hamel Lions Club Charter Member; • Hamel Dairy Days Charter Member (preceding the Hamel Rodeo Days); • Hamel Rodeo Committee Member for 27 years; • Service to the Hennepin County Sheriffs Rescue Squad; • Recognition by the City of Medina as the Hamel Volunteer Fire Fighter of the Year in 2003; and • Donation of craftsmanship to the development of Hamel Legion Park and renovation of the Historic Wolsfeld Cabin WHEREAS, Donald E. DesLauriers will be remembered as a noble public and civic servant of the Medina and Hamel community; and WHEREAS, Donald E. DesLauriers' craftsmanship will remain as a benchmark in the community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Medina recognize and memorialize the community service of Donald E.
