Minutes of the Town Commission, December 4,1940.

A regular meeting of the Town Commission of the Town of
Gulf Stream, Florida, was held on the 4th day of•December,1940, at
10.30 a.m. at the residence of the Mayor.
Commissioners Iffallace, Edwards and Bauer were, present.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and appro-
ved:,
The Commissioners approved the appointment of E. W.
Cooper and Desso T. Scholtz to serve as Town Policeman starting
December lst.
It was called to the attention of the Town Commission
t..at the Taxes for the Town of Gulf Stream,Florida, for-the year 1940
were now due. Tqx A:,sessor Bauer presented for the Commission the
1940 tax Boll for its consideration.. The tax roll was carefully ex-
amined and approved. A motion was made, seconded and passes accepting
the roll as presented as being the 1940 tax roll of the Town of Gulf
Stream, Florida.
sown Glerk Bauer was instructed to prepare in compliance
with Section 7, Article 8, of the Charter Act of the Town of Gulf
Stream,Florida a suitable notice and post same at the Door of the Town
Hall, stating that the Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida
would sit as a Board of Equilizers from December 10th to 20th to hear
,any,complaints regarding taxes or assessments as shown in the 1940 tax
roll.
The Commissioners aparov.:d the payment of the following
bills:
R.F.Lawrence $10.00 for 38 Smith and Wesson Revolver
11284672 to be used by day patrolman.
De so T. Scholtz $35.38 being 112 the cost of his uniforms
that he personally owned and would use while on duty.
Gentry Bros $9.60 Trqffic Paint for roads
Gulf Stream Golf "lub.$49.87 being Gas & Oil used by
police iwarch and April.

The Commissioners approved the taking out of Insurance
)f $25000.00/$50,000.00 Personal Liability and x$5,000.00 Property
)amage on the Car and Motorcycle off the two Town Police as protection
against any suit that may be brought against the Town. l
The Commissioners approved the taking out of Workmens
:ompensation Insurance on the Two Town Policeman for the period Dec -
