Brewster All Citizens Access Committee Meeting
March 16 , 2018
Present : Claire Gradone , Denise Rego , Joan Carstan jen , Mary Haynes , and Roberta Murphy
Absent : Cindy Bingham , Selectmen liaison , Judy Miller , and Jim O' Leary
Guest : Chris Miller
The meeting was called to order at 2 : 00 pm at the Brewster Police Department conference
room .
Secretary' s Report :
The minutes of the January 19th meeting were voted unanimously to accept them .
birector' s Report :
Claire notified the committee members that she will be stepping down as chairperson and
committee member on June 30 , 2018 . Claire will give us a summary before she steps
down . Therefore , our committee is looking for a new member and 2 people to taken on the
position of chairperson and secretary .
Regarding the playground area at Stony Brook School , Claire feels that the school and /or
town need to deal with the drainage issues before a plan can be made to replace the wood
chips .
Mark O' Brien told Claire that he will get another estimate regarding the automatic door
opener . There are 2 new men that will be running the food service at Captain's and they
named it Freeman 's Cafe . They were to open on March 15tH
Joan passed out some information from the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Eastern
Massachusetts . One needs to follow the rules f rom their cemetery about liners ,
embalming , etc . regarding a burial . It is encouraged to pre- plan your funeral in writing or
by pre- paying your services at a funeral home. This is more cost effective.
Old Business/New Business : Chris Miller has applied for a grant to pave the paths with
extensions at twummer Boy Park . We should hear by October and the town will have to
provide matching funds .
Paine's Creek has eroded a lot with the 3 winter storms . 700 tons of sand has been added
to the area . Chris hopes to have a roll out walkway for the summer .
