AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI AMENDING CHAPTER 19
(MOTOR VEHICLES & TRAFFIC) BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 19-321 (LIGHTED
LAMPS REQUIRED) DEFINING WHEN LIGHTED LAMPS ARE REQUIRED.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Code is hereby amended by adding one Section to Chapter 19
to read as follows:
CHAPTER 19
MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC
Sec. 19-3ZK.Lighted Lamps Required
Every ep rson driving a motor vehicle shall use lighted lamps from a half-hour after sunset to a half-hour
before sunrise and at any other time when there is not sufficient jigiLt to render clearly discernible
ep rsons and vehicles on the highway at a distance of five hundred feet ahead.Lighted lamps shall also
be required any time the weather conditions require usage of the motor vehicle's windshield wipers to
operate the vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.The provisions of this section shall be interpreted
to re wire lighted lamps during periods of fog even if usage of the windshield wipers is not necessary to
operate the vehicle in a careful and prudent manner
Section 2. This ordinance will be in full force and effect from and after the date of
this passage approval
