HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-02-2015THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JULY 2, 2015 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, , 2015, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Tony Foster and Dick Foore. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen City Clerk; Police Lt. Donnie Benedict; Rick Parker; Human Resources Director Sue Roberson; Carter Heaston; City Attorney Walt Chidester; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foore moved to approve the minutes of June 25, 2015, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foster moved to accept the July 2, 2015 Claims for Payment in the amount of One Hundred Seventy Six Thousand Two Hundred Sixty Six Dollars and Twenty Three cents ($176,266.23), supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carries. REQUESTS • STREET CLOSURES: 4m FLOOR BLUES CLUB AND IN CONCERT — Music Festival Elm Place — North 8th — North 10th Streets; North 9th Street (under the overpass) between Elm Place and North E Street August 21, 2015 — Noon — August 23, 2015 -12 AM Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. VAILE NEIGHBORHOOD — Block Party 100 Block of South 15th Street — South "A° — "B° Streets July 31, 2015 — 5 — 8:30 pm Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • NOISE VARIANCE: 4th FLOOR BLUES CLUB AND IN CONCERT — Music Festival Elm Place — North 8th — North 10th Streets; North 9th Street (under the overpass) between Elm Place and North E Street August 21, 2015 — Noon — August 23, 2015 -12 AM Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. BID OPENINGS - None BID AWARDS • STAR DEVELOPMENT, INC. — GRANT ADMINISTRATOR FOR OWNER OCCUPIED REPAIR Not to exceed $59,000.00 plus lead testing — not to exceed $1,000.00 per house (The City has banked funds at the Indiana Housing Community Development Agency that will be used as the local match) Mr. Foster moved to table this award until the bids amounts can be verified, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CONTRACTS CONTRACT NO. 78-2016 — AMALGAMATED TRANSIT UNION, LOCAL NO. 1474 Mr. Foster moved to table this contract as recommended by the Mayor, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 83-2015—CSX Mr. Foster moved to rescind Contract No. 64 -2015 which is the Contract being amended by Contract No. 83 -2015, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva vote, the motion carried. Mr. Foore moved to approve Contract No. 83 -2015, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.
