CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO. 2008-22
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID
FOR HAMEL ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Hamel Road reconstruction
improvement project, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and 15 bids
were received and complied with the advertisement; and
WHEREAS, it appears that Geislinger & Sons, Inc. of Watkins, Minnesota is the lowest
responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. The mayor and city administrator -clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter
into a contract with Geislinger & Sons, Inc. of Watkins, Minnesota in the name of the city of
Medina for a base bid of $1,430,615.91 plus the alternates listed on Exhibit A attached hereto, all
according to the plans and specifications therefor approved by the city council and on file in the
office of the city administrator -clerk.
2. The city administrator -clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith
to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder
and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Johnson
upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Crosby, Smith, Johnson, Weir
and the following voted against same: (Absent: Cavanaugh)
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

EXHIBIT A
TO RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID
The following bid alternates are also accepted:
1. Alternate No. 2 - concrete/paver sidewalk and driveways per drawings in the
amount of $164,158.75; and
2. Alternate No. 5 — Sioux Drive median improvements in the amount of $1,040.
