HomeMy Public PortalAbout2008-028 Resolution Authorizing Publication of Ord 441Member Weir introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2008-28 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 441 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 441 regarding regulations related to wetlands; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, § 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, the ordinance is 19 pages in length; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 441 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 441 regarding regulations related to wetlands. The ordinance requires the creation of native vegetative buffers in the upland area adjacent to wetlands if certain activities are proposed on a parcel of property. The width of the required upland buffers is based on the classification of the wetland, and range from 20 feet to 50 feet adjacent to the highest quality wetlands. The ordinance also includes structure setbacks from these upland buffers and regulates the activities within the buffers. The full text of Ordinance No. 441 is available from the city administrator -clerk at Medina city hall during regular business hours. Chad M.
