Minutes of the last meeting wore approved.
Motion was made by Sparks and seconded by Conley and carried to grant Conditional
Use permit as per application of Seventh Bay Adventist Ghuroh at Thirteenth Street,
subject to the fb1lowing conditions:
1. Surface drainage at the south and of proposed Magnolia Avenue to be
conveyed thru an ossament of a minim width of 101 to do -water into Orange Avenue..
2. Construction of drain to the plans. and specifications of City of Beaumont.
3. 28, wide half width paving on Magnolia with curb and gutter on east side
within a 401 wide half width dedication.
4. 51 high screening barrier that meets approval of Gitys location to be
determined fnm ar¢hitectwrml plot place submitted at time building permit is granted.
Letter from Beaumont Chamber of Commerce requesting consideration of front parking
on Beaumont Avenue was read. Several members wore present from the Chamber. There
was a discussion on widening of Beaumont Avenue. Jack Taylor spoke on desirability
of having uniform front parking. Henry Slaps also spoke. Oscar Leeb said at his
present location he does not have front parking, and he has fovod that people just
will not use rear parking area. Bay Ramont, President of the Chamber, spoke.
City Councilmen Hap Haskell and Oscar Berg were present. After considerable
discussion with all agreeing that front parking would be the most desirable for the
shopping arcs, it was brought out that some of the area on Beaumont Avenue has no
alleys. Conley made a motion to recommend to the City Resolution Now 1965 - 6 s
Sparks seconded and motion carried.
