BEAUMONT PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES OF APRIL 3, 1984 The Beaumont Planning Commission met in a regular meeting at 7:07 P.M., on Tuesday, April 3, 1984, in the City Council Chambers, Beaumont Civic Center, with Chairman Berg presiding. On Roll Call the following Commissioners were present: Thompson, Remy, Medina, Tapp and Chairman Berg. Commissioner Schuelke was excused. 3. There being no additions, corrections or deletions, the Minutes of Regular Planning Commission meeting of March 6, 1984 were approved as submitted. 4. Planning Director's Comments on Agenda Sequence and /or Extra Agenda Items. There were no changes in sequence or extra agenda items. The Planning Director spoke briefly concerning total costs of Govern- mental fees and permits for a 100 unit apartment building, and presented the Commission with a memo and actual calculations determining the costs of development. The Planning Director then requested an extra agenda item for possible consideration of a motion for additional meetings on April 10 and April 24. NEW ITEMS 1. 84- SNP -1, Town & Country R.V. Center, Inc. Permit Request for On- Premise Sign - Freeway Oriented. The preliminary staff report concerning the request was presented by the Planning Director covering the project description and the recommended conditions of approval. The Commission reviewed the request and the staff report, and questions from the Commission were answered by the Planning Director. On Motion by Commissioner Remy, second by Commissioner Tapp, the Beaumont Planning Commission approved Case No. 84- SNP -1, Sign Permit for Town and Country R.V. Center, Inc., with Conditions of Approval amended to add the following conditions: 4. Planning Director to insure the materials to be used in the sign are to be high impact plastic and metal. 5. Planning Director to confirm that State Scenic Highway laws do not apply to the City of Beaumont Page 1 E umont Planning Commission April 3, 1984 AYES: Commissioners Remy, Tapp and Chairman Berg. NOES: Commissioners Thompson and Medina. ABSTAIN: None. ABSENT: Commissioner Schuelke. MOTION CARRIED. It was the consensus of the Commission that, beginning at the next meeting, and all meetings thereafter, the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag will be scheduled at the beginning of the meeting. 2. New Zoning Ordinance No. 590. The Commission reviewed sections of proposed Zoning Ordinance No. 590. 3. On Motion by Commissioner Thompson, second by Commissioner Medina, this meeting was adjourned to Tuesday, April 10, 1984, at 7:00 P.M. AYES: Commissioners Thompson, Remy, Medina, Tapp and Chairman Berg. NOES: None. ABSTAIN: None. ABSENT: Commissioner Schuelke. There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 9:10 P.M. Page 2
