BEAUMONT PLANNING COMMISSION
MINUTES OF
ADJOURNED MEETING OF APRIL 24, 1984
1. The Beaumont Planning Commission met in an adjourned meeting at
7:08 P.M., on Tuesday, April 24, 1984, in the City Council
Chambers, with Chairman Berg presiding.
2. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Commissioner
Tapp.
3. Let the record show all Commissioners were present.
4. The minutes of April 17, 1984 were corrected as follows:
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was dispensed with.
Chairman Berg should be referred to as Chairman Berg not
Commissioner Berg.
Item No. 5 should be corrected to read Ordinance No. 590,
not 5901.
There being no further corrections, additions or deletions, the
Minutes of April 17, 1984 were approved as corrected.
5. Planning Director's Comments on Agenda Sequence and /or Extra
Agenda Items.
The Planning Director added a second agenda item under Planning
Commission Hearings as Agenda Item No. 2, discussion of noticing
and procedural conduct regarding the new zoning ordinance.
6. Planning Director's Status Report.
The Planning Director presented a verbal report to the Commission
concerning City Council action at their meeting of April 23, 1984
approving his request for additional monies to finish a procedural
manual, zoning and general plan maps and update the General Plan.
He also advised that as of Friday all communications will have
gone out in a search for a new full time Planning Director.
The Planning Director then updated the Commission on several pro-
jects and applications which have been or are being processed by
the Planning Department.

a. New Zoning Ordinance 590
The Commission continued their review of selected sections
of proposed Zoning ordinance No. 590.
2. Noticing and Procedural Conduct - New Zoning ordinance.
The Planning Director proposed that the Commission not hold their
regularly scheduled meeting on May 1, but that meetings be set on
May 8 and May 22 to allow sufficient time for proper noticing of
the public hearing concerning the zoning ordinance, with the
major hearing on the zoning ordinance to be held on May 22.
The procedural conduct of both the Commission and the public
was outlined by the Planning Director.
There being no further business to come before the Commission, the
meeting was adjourned at 9:35 P.M.
