RESOLUTION NO.2008-45
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND HONORING FORMER CITY
COUNCILMEMBER WILFRED (HUNK) SCHERER FOR FAMILY HERITAGE AND
PUBLIC SERVICE TO THE CITY OF MEDINA
WHEREAS, Wilfred (Hunk) Scherer died Friday, June 6, 2008 after providing years of
residency and public service to the Medina community; including
• Fourth -generation family farmer in the community;
• Town Constable in the 1950's;
• City Councilmember (1981 to 1993); and
WHEREAS, Wilfred (Hunk) Scherer will be remembered as a passionate public servant
and colorful character to the Medina community; and
WHEREAS, Wilfred (Hunk) Scherer's support for modern utilities and paved roads have
improved the quality of life in the Medina community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Medina
recognize and memorialize the family heritage and public service of Wilfred (Hunk) Scherer in
the City of Medina.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Smith
upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Crosby, Smith, Weir, Cavanaugh
and the following voted against same: (Absent: Johnson)
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
