Affidavit of Posting. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 1. Approval of Minutes for the Special Meeting of June 17, 1997, and Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 1, 1997. Motion by Commissioner Davis, Seconded by Commissioner Dressel, to approve the Minutes as presented. Vote: 5/0. 2. Oral Communications. None. Director's Report: Director reported that there is a Special Joint meeting Between the City Council and the Planning Commission scheduled for August 20, 1997. Scheduled Matters: Minor Variance No. 97 -MV -5 and Sign Permit No. 97- SNP -5, Electronic Message Center at 501 Highland Springs Avenue. Applicant: Quality Outdoor Advertising, Inc. Planning Director, Ernie Egger, presented the Staff Report, a copy of which is on file in the C yCIei4s office. Mr. Jim Elmore of Quality Outdoor Advertising and Mr. Samir Hagigi, the property owner, spoke and explaind the request. Motion by Commissioner Davis, Seconded by Commissioner Frisch, to recommend the the CohM approve the application as presented. Plot Plan No. 97 -PP -1 and Negative Declaration No. 97 -ND -3, Expansion of A- American Self- Storage Facility at 1340 E. Sixth Street. Applicant: A- American Self Storage. Planning Director, Emie Egger, presented the Staff Report, a copy of which is on file in the City Clerks office. Chairman Salinas opened the Public Hearing at 6:41 p.m. Mark Kennard spoke as the representative of A- American Storage Chairman Salinas closed the public hearing at 6:45 p.m. Motion by Commissioner DeForge, Seconded by Commissioner Dressel to approve as presented. Vote: 5/0. Public Use Permit No 97- PUP -3, Proposed "House of Decision" Shelter for Women and Children at 210 W. 6th Street. Applicant: Bjoun "BP Stavess. Planning Director, Ernie Egger, presented the Staff Report, a copy of which is on file in the City Clerks office.
