HomeMy Public PortalAbout10/07/97 PC Minutes1 Minutes Beaumont Planning Commission October 7, 1997 Call to Order: 6:04 p.m. Place: Beaumont Council Chambers Roll Call: Chairman Salinas, Commissioner Dressel, Commissioner Davis, and Commissioner Frisch were present. Commissioner Deforge was absent. Affidavit of Posting. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 1. Approval of Minutes from the Regular Meeting of August 5, 1997. Motion was made by Commissioner Davis, Seconded by Commissioner Frisch, to approve the minutes as presented. 2. Oral Communications. None. 3. Scheduled matters: a. Extension of Time for Tentative Tract Map No. 25272. Consideration of a request for two (2) one year extensions of time for the approval of a subdivision map located at the northwest corner of Cougar Way and Sunnyslope Avenue. Applicant: American Pacific Financial. Staff report was presented by Ernie Egger, a copy of which is on file in the City Clerk's office. Motion was made by Commissioner Frisch, Seconded by Commissioner Dressel, to approve as presented. Vote: 4/0 b. Minor Plot Plan No. 97- MPP -1. Consideration of a request to expand the existing Omni Engineering facilities at 501 West Sixth Street. Applicant: Finnie Family Trust. Staff report was presented by Ernie Egger, a copy of which is on file in the City Clerk's office. Motion was made by Commissioner Davis, Seconded by Commissioner Dressel, to approve as presented, with additions to the Conditions of Approval (Addition of new Condition No. 6.3). Vote: 4/0. C. Minor Variance No. 97 -MV -6 and Sign Permit No. 97- SNP -6. Consideration of a request to erect a free - standing sign at 1201 East Sixth Street. Applicant: Quiel Brothers Signs, Inc. Staff report was presented by Ernie Egger, a copy of which is on file in the City Clerk's office. Motion was made by Commissioner Frisch, Seconded by Commissioner Davis, to approve as presented. Vote: 4/0. 4. Director's Report Union Pacific - status on project. Senior Housing Project - Cougar project should be ready to go before the Commission at the next regularly schedule meeting.
