Beaumont Planning Commission
January 20, 1998
Call to Order: 6:06p.m. Place: Beaumont Council Chambers
Roll Call: Chairman Salinas, Commissioner Dressel, Commissioner Davis, and Commissioner
Frisch were present. Commissioner Deforge was absent and was excused.
Affidavit of Posting:
Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag:
1. Approval of Minutes from the Regular Meeting of December 2, 1997.
Motion by Commissioner Davis, Seconded by Commissioner Dressel to approve the Minutes as
presented. Vote 4/0.
2. Oral Communications. Nathan Guerriero made comment regarding the Reclaimed
Water Project, stating his contention that this effort
overlapped and was in competition with the Beaumont -Cherry
Valley Water District.
3. Scheduled matters:
a. Plot Plan 97 -PP -2, Variance No. 97 -V -1, Tentative Parcel Map and Negative
Declaration No. 97 -ND -2, consideration of a request for the expansion of the
existing Dura Plastics manufacturing and distribution facility, located at 533 Third
Street in Beaumont. The project involves the consolidation of seven (7) parcels and
the elimination of portions of Third Street and Magnolia Avenue, and the construction
of a new 149,000 square foot manufacturing and warehouse building, resulting in a
total facility of 297,700 square feet. A variance will be considered to permit
exceedance of the C -HS Zoning District's 50 foot building height Limitation for the
construction of four (4) 65 -foot high material storage silos, proposed to be located
at the northwesterly corner of the site, along Beaumont Avenue south of the Southern
Pacific Railroad tracks. Adoption of a Negative Declaration pursuant to the
California Environmental Quality Act will also be considered. Applicant: Dura
Plastics, Inc.
Staff report was presented by Planning Director Ernie Egger, a copy of which is on file in the City
Clerks office.
Chairman Salinas opened the Public Hearing at 6:29 p.m.

Chairman Salinas closed the Public hearing at 7:10 p.m.
Motion by Commissioner Dressel, Seconded by Commissioner Frisch to approve Plot Plan 97 -PP -2
and Variance No. 97 -V -1, as presented, and recommend that the City Council approve Tentative
Parcel Map No. 28521 and adopt Negative Declaration No. 97 -ND -2. Vote 4/0.
