CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO. 2008-68
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 450 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY
WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 450 an
ordinance amending Section 826, regarding the Rural Residential zoning districts; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes § 412.191, subdivision 4 allows publication by title and
summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and
WHEREAS, the ordinance is 15 pages in length; and
WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the
public of the intent and effect of the ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that
the city administrator -clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 450 to be
published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance:
Public Notice
The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 450, an ordinance
amending Section 826, regarding the Rural Residential zoning districts (RR, RR-UR, RR-1 and RR-
2). Some permitted, conditional and accessory uses within these districts were added and some uses
were removed. The hard surfaces coverage requirements were changed. Animal density standards
were added to regulate the number of livestock and traditional farm animals that may be kept on
properties. Low Impact Development (LID)/Best Management Practices (BMP's) and other
environmental and engineering standards were added to feed lot uses. The wetland setback
requirement was removed from the RR-UR district standards. Changes were made to the
performance standards for commercial riding stables in the RR-2 district, including the number of
shows or events, the maximum number of horses that are allowed and access requirements.
The full text of Ordinance No. 450, is available from the city administrator -clerk at Medina city hall
during regular business hours.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city
administrator -clerk keep a copy of the ordinance in his office at city hall for public inspection and
that he post a full copy of the ordinance in a public place within the city.

Cavanaugh and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Smith, Cavanaugh, Crosby, Weir, Johnson
and the following voted against same:
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
