RESOLUTION FOR INCREASING BID
AND QUOTATION THRESHOLD
WHEREAS, the recent changes to the Local Public Contracts Law gave local
contracting units the ability to increase their bid threshold; and
\VHEREAS, contracting units that have appointed a Qualified Purchasing Agent
("QPA") pursuant to N.J.S,A,II-9 (b) can take advantage of a higher bid threshold
pursuant to NJ,S.A. 40A:II-3 (a); and
\VHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret desires to take advantage of the increased bid
threshold;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Governing Body of the Borough of
Carteret, in the County ofNliddlesex, in the State of New-Jersey hereby increases its bid
threshold up to $36,000.00;
WHEREAS, as a result of the changes in the bid threshold, the 15% threshold for the
informal receipt of quotations pursuant to N,J,S.A. 40A:II-6,] (a) also changes to
$5400.00:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Governing Body of the Borough of
Carteret, in the County of iYIiddlesex, in the .State of New Jersey hereby increases its
quolation threshold 10 $5400.00:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with N.J,S.A.C.5:34-5,2, the
Municipal Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this
resolution to the Director of the Division of Laeal Govenunent Services.
