HomeMy Public PortalAbout2008-079 Resolution Approving Preliminary Concept Layout for Reconstruction of the TH55 at CR 116 IntersectionMember Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2008-79 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY CONCEPT LAYOUT FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE TH 55 AT CR 116/CSAH 115 INTERSECTION WHEREAS, the City of Medina proposes to reconstruct the intersection of TH 55 at CR 116/CSAH 115 with improved channelization to increase safety and capacity at the intersection within the corporate City limits in Hennepin County, Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the City of Medina has accepted $1.24 million from the TH 55 Corridor Coalition as a portion of the funding necessary to complete the reconstruction project; and WHEREAS, the City of Medina has been notified by Mn/DOT that $500,000 in State funding is available for the project from Mn/DOT; and WHEREAS, the City of Medina has developed a preliminary concept layout based on engineering analysis as well as the input from Hennepin County, Mn/DOT, Medina property owners, business owners and residents; and WHEREAS, the City of Medina reserves the right to withdraw the project if the concerns of affected property owners are not sufficiently addressed; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Medina, that the City of Medina approves the preliminary concept layout presented at the November 18, 2008 City Council meeting and authorizes City staff to continue working with Mn/DOT and Hennepin County to obtain agency approval for the preliminary concept layout for the TH 55 at CR 116/CSAH 115 intersection reconstruction project.
