TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 1, 2017
1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Sternquist called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 6:15 p.m. in the
Council Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue, Temple City.
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Councilmember—Chavez, Fish, Man, Sternquist
ABSENT: Councilmember — Yu
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Cook, City Attorney Vail, City Clerk Kuo,
Administrative Services Director Hause, Personnel Analyst
Johnson, California Joint Power Insurance Authority
Representative Paul Zeglovitch and California Joint Power
Insurance Authority Attorney Scott Grossberg
Councilmember Chavez made a motion to excuse Councilmember Yu for cause.
Seconded by Councilmember Fish.
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS — None
4. CLOSED SESSION
A. Purpose: Existing litigation
Title: Garcia v. City of Temple City; Los Angeles County
Superior Court Case Nos. BC 636632 and BC 636726
Authority: Gov't Code 54956.9(d)(1)
Representatives: City Attorney; City Manager
City Council recessed to closed session at 6:16 p.m. and reconvened at 6:39 p.m.
with all members present.
City Attorney Vail reported that City Council met in Closed Session and received a
briefing from the City Attorney. There is no other reportable action.
5. ADJOURNMENT
The City Council Special Meeting was adjourned at 6:39 p.m.
