HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-21-2011THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JULY 21, 2011 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, July 21, 2011, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members Vicki Robinson, Dian Lawson and Tony Foster. Also attending was Assistant City Attorney Kim Vessels The following business was conducted: CALL TO ORDER Robinson called the meeting to order and noted for the minutes that all board members and legal counsel were present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Robinson made a request to the board to approve the minutes for the July 14, 2011. Foster moved to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Robinson made a request to the board to approve the claims for payment for July 22, 2011 in the amount of $407,016.73. She explained of that total $73,853.77 was paid to RP &L for electric cost including street lights; $44,288.29 was paid to Milestone for Hot /Cold mix; $62,415.15 was paid to the City of Richmond for Intergovernmental charges; $87,565.78 was paid to Thor Construction for NSP construction and $54,943.27 was paid to Eastern Alliance for Worker's Compensation claims. Lawson moved to approve with a second by Foster. The motion was unanimously passed. CHANGE ORDERS A. Robinson made a request to the board to approve Change Order No. 3 to Contract No. 129 -2011. Director of Metropolitan Development Tony Foster explained that this change order corrects a mistake that was made by the contractor and does not involve any dollar change in the contract. Lawson moved to approve with a second by Foster. The motion was unanimously passed. Board of Works Minutes June 21, 2011 Page 2 of 2 BID OPEININGS A. Robinson brought to the board a bid opening for Microsurfacing / Crack Sealing 2011 — Phase 1. There was one bid and that was from Strawser Construction in the amount of $200,674.97. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned.
