DATE: October 3, 2017 TO: The Honorable City Council MEMORANDUM FROM: Bryan Cook, City Manager By: Cathy Burroughs, Director of Parks and Recreationb� SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS — MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 20, 2017 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission actions from their meeting of September 20, 2017. BACKGROUND: On September 20, 2017, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting. ANALYSIS: Following is a summary of actions taken at the September 20, 2017 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting: 1. ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioner - Georgino, Rosso, Vance, Vice -Chairman Haddad, Chairman Baroldi Absent: Commissioner - None Excused: Commissioner - None 2. CONSENT CALENDAR The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes of the August 16, 2017 meeting and received and filed the Monthly Report for August 2017. City Council October 3, 2017 Page 2 of 2 3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. SENIOR MASTER PLAN UPDATE The Parks and Recreation Commission received an update on the Senior Master Plan process from Commissioner Georgino. 4. NEW BUSINESS A. REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER FROM CONGRESSWOMAN JUDY CHU FOR RESERVED USE OF THE LIVE OAK PARK COMMUNITY CENTER FOR A COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2017 The Commission approved the request. 5. UPDATE FROM PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR A. The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for September 2017. CITY STRATEGIC GOALS: Approval of the Commission actions of September 20, 2017 furthers the City's Strategic Goal of Citizen Education and Communication. FISCAL IMPACT: This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-18 City Budget.
