SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF AUGUST 22, 2017
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Planning Commission
(Commission) actions from their meeting of August 22, 2017 .
BACKGROUND:
On August 22, 2017, the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting .
ANALYSIS:
The following is a summary of actions taken at the August 22 , 2017 meeting :
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner-Haddad, Lee, Vice-Chair Cordes , Chair Marston
Absent: Commissioner-None
Excused : Commissioner-O'Leary
2 . CONSENT CALENDAR
The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of July 25,
2017.
3 . PUBLIC HEARING

AND SITE PLAN REVIEW FOR A FLAG LOT SUBDIVISION AND FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCE ON
EACH PARCEL OF THE SUBDIVISION
The Commission approved a tentative parcel map and site plan review located
at 4922 Arden Drive. The front parcel will be 61 feet wide and 137.5 feet deep
with a land area of approximately 8,389 square feet. The site plan for the front
residence includes a two-story four bedroom residence and a three-car
garage. The rear parcel (flag lot) will be 81 feet wide and 90 feet deep with a
single-story residence including four bedrooms, an office space, and a two-car
garage. Both residences consist of a New Classical style based on
Mediterranean architectural design. The "pole" area (driveway), will be located
along the north side of the property. The property is located in the R-1 zone,
and is designated as Low Density Residential by the City's General Plan.

7. UPDATE FROM THE PLANNING MANAGER
Planning Manager Reimers updated the Planning Commission on the
following items: 1) a proposed ordinance regarding unmanned collection
bins, 2) that a six unit residential development on Olive west of Temple City
Boulevard is close to completion, 3) the Terraces at Temple City will soon be
submitted for Plan check, 4) 16 applications for Accessory Dwelling Units so
far have been accepted by the City, and 5) the next Planning Commission
Meeting is scheduled October 10.
8. ADJOURNMENT
The Commission meeting was adjourned at 7:55p.m.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Reviewing the Commission actions of August 22, 2017, furthers the City's Strategic
Goals of Citizen Education and Communication.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2017-18 City Budget.
