1 . A - Review Building Programming Submitted by Greenline Architects:
Doug Roberts - Passed out a preliminary sketch and presented an oral review
describing the size and location of each room within the Public Safety Building.
Some items included in the review were:
Centralized Entrance, Shooting Range, Parking, Sally Port,
The Fire Bay was not included in the review.
Doug Roberts - Recommends adding the Sally Port in the RFP this will be an
open area with a fence and automatic gate, this is an inexpensive secured
area.
The squad room will be a multi-functional room.
The Court Room will be a flexible, large room with a raised platform for the
Judge and the Mayor and Council. Members of the audience can use portable
chairs.
Diane Schleicher- Has there been any instances where someone has thrown a
chair at the judge?
Captain Moseley - No
There was general discussion of which committees may use the Court Room for
their meetings.
The Information Technology Department will provide information on what type
of electronics and projection equipment is needed.
Jan Fox- We need a video production booth
Wanda Doyle -This is a one story building the video booth can be located in
the rear of the Court Room.
Diane Schleicher- What is the correct square footage of the building?
Robert Poticny- 14,920 sq ft or as close to as possible
Robert Poticny-The Fire Bay in our opinion will not serve any purpose other than
for the parking of a fire tanker.
Diane Schleicher-The Fire Bay is not logical
Wanda Doyle - I do not want to leave out the Fire Department but if the space
is only going to be used for parking we may look at this later.
Bill Garbett- Do we purchase new fire equipment or proceed with the fire bay?
Chief Sasser- This is a Police Station not a Public safety Building let the Police
have the space we would rather be able to purchase fire equipment.
Douglas Roberts -There are two types of fuel pumps, suction and centrifugal
It would cost approximately $10,000.00 to convert over.
The tanks would stay in the same location.
Wanda Doyle - When do we start the Construction Manger process?
Robert Poticny- We will review the procedures and possibly within the next six
weeks we could start the process.
B - Review Draft Budget for Project- No Discussion
