CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2009-40 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 462 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 462, an ordinance amending code of ordinances section 805 regarding adoption of the Minnesota State Building Code; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, § 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, the ordinance is lengthy; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 462 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 462, an amendment to code of ordinances section 805 regarding adoption of the Minnesota State Building Code. The purpose of the amendment is to reflect changes in state law which recodifies the building code as Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 16B rather than Chapter 326B and which transfers administrative authority over the building code from the Minnesota Department of Administration to the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. The amendment also makes several other non - substantive revisions to the ordinance. The full text of Ordinance No. 462 is available for inspection at Medina city hall during regular business hours. Adams, City Administrator -Clerk BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk keep a copy of the ordinance in his office at city hall for public inspection and that he post a full copy of the ordinance in a public place within the city.
