CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2009-41 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 464 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 464, an ordinance amending section 330 of the code of ordinances regarding public nuisances; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, § 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, the ordinance is five pages in length; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 464 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 464, an amendment to section 330 of the code of ordinances regarding public nuisances. The amendment adds maintaining grass or weeds taller than eight inches as a public nuisance, subject to certain exceptions. Provisions relating to the process of declaring and abating a nuisance as well as the recovery of city costs associated with an abatement action have been clarified and expanded. Certain other provisions have been modified to correct errors or to make the section consistent with other, more recently amended parts of the city code. The full text of Ordinance No. 464 is available for inspection at Medina city hall during regular business hours. Chad M.
