A. A ZONING CODE AMENDMENT PERTAINING TO THE REGULATION OF
UNATTENDED COLLECTION BOXES, REVERSE VENDING MACHINES,
AND COLLECTION FACILITIES
The Commission recommended that the City Council approve an ordinance to
regulate unattended collection boxes, reverse vending machines, and
collection facilities. Staff currently enforces these facilities through the City's
public nuisance ordinance (Section 4-2C), however, contacting these
operators is very difficult and often ineffective as the boxes are oftentimes
relocated to a nearby location without the property owner's permission. The
proposed Ordinance seeks to remedy this situation by creating a permit
process which would require the property owner's permission, a special
permit, and a clear list of operational, maintenance, and locational standards.
B. A ZONING CODE AMENDMENT PERTAINING TO SERIES 2 CODE
AMENDMENTS OF TITLE 9 (ZONING REGULATIONS), CHAPTER 1
(ZONING CODE)
The Commission continued the Series 2 Code Amendments of Title 9 to a
date uncertain to allow staff to conduct additional research.

6. COMMUNICATIONS-None
7. UPDATE FROM THE PLANNING MANAGER
